Literacy rates

This index shows the proportion of adult population (+15) able to read and write. It's a good measure of a population's cultural level, though it may be independent of the current system's quality.

Education expenditure, shown as percentage of a country's GDP, is an indicator of a society's effort to grant an appropiate education.
